Today was the first day during which I managed to stop briefly. Since collecting the van almost a week ago, we have not really had a chance to take stock.
We both slightly dreaded arriving at our hotel in Segovia. Our van was long and we have driven around many Spanish towns where streets can be narrow and steep...
The drive from Bilbao to Segovia was gorgeous. This was our first visit to northern Spain, but so much has been said and written about its rugged and green beauty and all of it is true.
Last minute ‘stuff’ thrown in the van, we were ready to go!
I am writing this retrospectively, now that we have arrived at our home for the next year, so this is a bit of a memory of our journey from the UK to Andalusia.
We have just spent our last weekend in the UK before we embark on our adventure, and it has been a very (unexpectedly) emotional one.
In our last post, I mentioned, in passing, that we had not yet secured a tenant for our London home. In the dim and distant past, I used to be involved in property, so I know how estate agents operate and I know how much they are criticised. Sadly, much of the criticism, from my recent experience, is justified!
In one week's time, we will have disembarked the ferry at Bilbao and will be starting our drive down through Spain to our new home!
If you wanted a straight answer, then the answer would be No. However, it is never as simple as that...
